8 out of 9

The end is in sight - I'm on the last tapestry in my series of 9. I've got to admit it's beginning to feel like a slog (well today it did anyhow...) and I'll be so glad to finish. There is one I may have to redo as like a dope I used two colours in the warp and of course it shows. Can you see which one? Yep I thought so...

I love these! What a great series. It will almost be a shame to split them up. And, no, I can't tell which one is different.

Oh no! It breaks my heart to think that you'll have to redo it! But once you notice it, you notice it. It's not the most forgiving medium is it? I think that's why I went back to collage.....Got a mistake? Stick something over it!
It's a beautiful series of work.

I had to enlarge it twice, but then I noticed it. I'm shocked that it would show through in a weft faced tapestry. Makes me wonder if my tapestries would look better with something other than white for the warp?

Hi Jan,
It certainly does! At Edinburgh we usually used either a black mohair warp or white cotton. The black gives a richness to a highly coloured tapestry. Maybe you could play around with some samples.

I'm curious about the black mohair, warp, it sounds beautiful, but is there something you can use to mark it? I like marking my warp, but I have some gray wool warp and anything I've tried to mark it with is just invisible.

Hi Jan,
I used tippex.
