There aren't many things I miss about England (people - now that's a different matter...) but the small pleasure of writing an envelope with my Parker 60 fountain pen and sticking on a Royal Mail stamp is one of them! French stamps are at best boring and at worst hideous. See the Royal Mail's current Darwin series here.

Our friend Lizzie Farey has an exhibition of her eloquent willow works, 'Spirit of Air' at Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries from 6 March - 18 April.

Yes, when I got entries from all over the world for the Connections exhibit recently, I loved the Royal Mail stamps from England. I took them all off and put them in my journal. I think it somehow makes one feel 'royal' to receive one!
